I was never very fond of this guy's music but his lyrics to this song, posted here by a progressive Muslim, thrill me and make me feel better about being a free-form Christian.

Also there's this Lord's Prayer in Aramaic, with a much more interesting translation than the good ol' King James version.  OK, I just noticed someone who's into translating Aramaic posted a comment there with a link to a) his collection of some spurious translations, including this one, and b) his own breakdown of the meanings of the words.  Which is a little more like King James.  So I'm a little disappointed that the cool version isn't a very accurate translation, nonetheless, it's fun to get into this hairy business of translation.   It's important to me to remember that everything we read can be wildly misunderstood, especially when it was originally spoken and written in other languages from a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.
